2022 Yearly Review

As we approach New Year’s Eve, let’s take a look at the 2022 yearly review. What were your biggest accomplishments and lessons learned in the past twelve months?

Goals Achieved

I started the year by writing down some clear, measurable goals. First, I wanted to secure a full time job in the Instructional Design field by July 1. Happily, I started my current position on June 28th! That’s the power of intention.

Second, I wanted to introduce my love of quilting to 25 new people with in-person classes. Although my record-keeping was not completely accurate, I think I had about 30 people in my introductory classes over the whole year. At my local quilt store, I teach beginner quilting, introduction to paper-piecing, and getting started on a longarm. I look forward to meeting more quilters next year!

The Year in Quilts

Throughout 2022, I have shared all of the fun projects I completed during the monthly challenges for the Island Batik Ambassador program. Here is a recap, with links to blog posts that detail my interpretation of each prompt.

October – Tool Time                                  November – Creative Stockings     December – Lone Star Quilts

I am so thankful to Island Batik, and all the industry partners for making it a fabulous program. Thanks to Hobbs Batting, Schmetz Needles, Aurifil thread, Accuquilt, By Annie, Funky Friends Factory, and Prarie Spirit Alpacas for the materials to make my quilting dreams come true.

At the Longarm

I keep a notebook by my longarm so I can track each quilt that I complete. For 2022, I had a total of 22 finishes, which seems appropriate, although it is down quite a bit from the 30-40 finishes in prior years. It’s hard being a working girl, LOL. My last finish was this quilt for a dear friend. I plan to share the whole process of working with Crown Royal bags in an up-coming video on my YouTube channel.

Your Turn!
