I’m Andi, the owner/founder/designer/creative force behind True Blue Quilts. For the month of December I am participating in a blog challenge, hosted by Cheryl of Muppin.com
Of course, you can see more of my story on the ubiquitous About Me page, but I’d like to tell you a little bit about what has been/is going on with True Blue Quilts in 2019.
Live in 3… 2… 1…
One of the core components of True Blue Quilts is teaching and the way to do that in the 21st Century is through videos. I want to teach people how to enjoy, experiment and excel as they quilt. You can find my live chats on Facebook where I turn on the camera and share whatever project happens to be under the needle that day.
I achieved a big personal goal in May when I started my YouTube channel. I share weekly videos about quilting. There are tutorials showing you how to make a variety of quilt blocks, and then how to assemble the quilt from sashing to borders, backing and binding as well. As a longarm quilter, I love to share my free motion quilting designs. You can find those videos in the Stitch Story playlist, where I take you through my process of choosing stitch patterns on a finished quilt.
New Quilt Designs
While I am busy designing new quilts all year long, I try to group my patterns in collections to release several at a time. 2019 was devoted to the Twister® ruler and my Twist-n-Sew collection. You can find fun, small projects which are great for trying a new technique. Of course, I talked about doing the twist in several YouTube videos!
I returned to my love of foundation paper piecing and taught a class at Pinners Conference Arizona.
We had a blast making Purple Angles. One block is perfect for a 12” pillow.
Then I drafted this cute little gnome as a Make-n-Take for my booth. You can get the pattern by clicking here.

Up Next…Beyond the Blog Challenge
2020 will bring new quilt designs. I have plans for a quilt along in February with Just Wanna Quilt and the #InventoryQuilt. That gnome needs some friends so I am working on more paper pieced designs. And, I have a secret project to reveal over the summer!
Tell me in the comments: what are you working on and what do you want to see more of from True Blue Quilts?
looking forward to reading your posts during the challenge and beyond
Leona
