2023 is off to a roaring start and this crazy life just keeps rolling along!
I want to join the Put Your Foot Down linky party, so I need to do a weekly round up. Thanks to Denise from For the Love of Geese, who has returned as our lovely hostess.
Block of the Month
Like most quilters, I manage to juggle a variety of projects, so I always have something to work on. I’m very excited about the Little Bit Different 2023 Block of the Month program.
January’s block is Triangles Galore. I’ve even included a pattern with three sizes if you want to make a full quilt from this one block.
On the first Saturday of every month, I host a Sew-n-Chat session that is live-streamed on YouTube. Watch as I work on the January block. Hopefully, you can join the fun next month! Here is a link to the replay…
Color Dance
Speaking of BOM quilts, my local shop is running the Color Dance Block of the Month.
We are halfway through, but there are still kits available for this fun quilt. I quilted the shop sample, so I am working with a different color palette for a second version. Here are the flying geese units from Month 4:
No Time to Sew!
Alas, my quilting time is severely restricted these days because I am working full time. I taught high school for many years and decided in 2021 to transition to something related to corporate training. When I left the classroom, my plans were pretty vague! Luckily, I found the Applied Instructional Design Academy, which gave me the skills I needed. I am currently developing internal training for the State of Arizona. It is a great career field for people who like curriculum design and a training environment. If you or someone you know might be interested in a similar career change, please email me. I am always happy to chat!
My mentor is running a free workshop to give people more information about opportunities in the Instructional Design field. You can sign up here: Freedom through Instructional Design Jumpstart.
Anyone else juggling a day job with their quilting obsession?!?
