December brings visions of sugar plums, holiday decorations, and the final block in the Little Bit Different BOM! Here is the Windows quilt block, a square-in-a-square modified to fit our unique 6″ x 9″ block size.
What theme will you use for your blocks? I can imagine Windows as a fun I-Spy block in a bunch of bright novelty prints for a child, or with seasonal winter scenes for a beautiful holiday quilt.

Windows Block Construction
Choose two fabrics for your block – a focus print and a background.
The square-in-a-square unit sews together quickly by adding triangles to opposite sides of a center square.
Accurate cutting and sewing will ensure that you don’t lose the points. Check your seam allowance! The markings on the Little Bit Different ruler make it so easy to double check.
Add strips to each side to finish the blocks at 6″ x 9″.
Now that you have all twelve blocks for the Little Bit Different BOM, it’s time to choose a layout. If you enjoyed the Windows block, you can put them together in my new design, Baubles. The pyramid effect would showcase all of the 2023 blocks too! The Baubles pattern is on sale in December for just $5.99.
Have you kept up with the Little Bit Different block of the month? Whether you’ve made one block, all twelve or even more, I’d love to reward you with a free pattern. Simply send me a picture of your quilt blocks and the name of the quilt pattern you’d like, and I will be in touch with a digital download for you.
