How long has it been since you made a quilt to keep for yourself? The idea of an Inventory Quilt is to use a bit of everything in your stash and make a quilt just for you.
Elizabeth at Just Wanna Quilt saw Jessica’s Inventory quilt and wanted to make one of her own. You can read that story here. When I heard about it, I loved the idea and immediately thought about using my stash to update one of my patterns. I talked about it with Elizabeth and Willow, and I’d like to invite YOU to sew along with us!
A few months ago I had a booth set up with my patterns on display. Quite a few people saw a butterfly when they looked at my Angel Wings pattern. That inspired me to bring a new version to life. Although the original pattern was written with a variety of rectangles to form the wings, it also works as a pixelated design. Cut all the patches with a single patch size to make the butterfly version.
During February 2020, I will be hosting a quilt along to make the Angel Wings butterfly as an #inventoryquilt project. We will begin by cutting one square from any and all of our green, purple and orange fabrics. Start planning your quilt by downloading the free coloring sheet here.
From Feb 1-29, 2020, use the code JWQ to purchase the pattern at a 25% discount.
I have always enjoyed scrappy quilts. The #inventoryquilt project is a fun way to use your stash in a creative tribute to your own quilting journey. Another way to make a fun scrappy quilt is with the Lil Twister ruler. Take a look at my Rainbow Twister, which I described in this blog post.
I can’t wait to see your quilts! Be sure to join the Just Wanna Quilt facebook group. And follow us on Instagram to share your progress with the Inventory Quilt project.
